Software detection rules

Software detection rules

Software detection rules are criteria for identifying specific software applications or types based on specific features, signatures, or behaviors.

IT professionals use detection rules to identify suspicious or malicious software and initiate actions to block or remove it.

The most important thing to remember about software detection rules is to regularly update the underlying catalogs. If the rule sets are up to date, the vulnerability scanner will also detect new malware, ransomware and other threats so they can be isolated and removed before they affect other systems or data.
