Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung AG
Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung AG (GRAWE), headquartered in Graz, employs over 1,500 people at its corporate headquarters, its ten regional offices, and in more than 100 customer service centers throughout Austria. In addition, the GRAWE Group includes 15 subsidiaries in Southern and Eastern Europe.

Long-Term Success by Chance
“It was really just by chance that we came across baramundi,” says Andreas Lampel, IT administrator at GRAWE. He and a baramundi representative met at an informational event. After Lampel and his team explained the issues they were facing at the time, baramundi was able to answer all their questions more than satisfactorily.
“I had my doubts as to whether there was even a vendor out there that could comprehensively solve our problems, but baramundi proved us wrong,” Lampel concludes.
“As a company, we set high standards for ourselves and must continually prove our quality in our daily interactions with customers; therefore, we also expect a very high level of professionalism from an IT service provider,” says Dr. Gernot Reiter, Deputy CEO and Head of IT at GRAWE. Since 2003, baramundi has been a reliable partner to GRAWE with its baramundi Management Suite. Over 3,800 endpoints—40% of which are laptops and the remaining 60% desktop PCs—are securely managed with the bMS and continuously kept up to date.

Enhancing Security Through Patch Management and Managed Software
“With baramundi patch management, we’ve found this solution and can now schedule when the necessary patches will be deployed to the clients. We don’t have to tie up network bandwidth unnecessarily, so we don’t disrupt users while they’re working,” says Lampel. The integrated vulnerability scan checks all clients on the corporate network for vulnerabilities.
For GRAWE’s IT team, the short update cycles of third-party software posed a major time challenge. With baramundi managed software, IT staff are able to deploy the necessary and most up-to-date updates for standard software to over 3,800 clients. Andreas Lampel and his colleagues use the provided software packages not only for the initial installation of software but also for updates and uninstallation. Furthermore, this solution provides IT staff with detailed information about necessary updates and their security implications. In addition, relevant information for a rollout is made available.

The Beginning of a Long-Term Partnership
Convinced of the quality, GRAWE has steadily added new modules over time; “For us, a new module from baramundi has always been—and continues to be—of interest. The ongoing optimization of client management is a key priority for us,” says Lampel, explaining the company’s interest in its partner’s solutions.
“baramundi has been with us for more than ten years now and has proven to be the right choice in every respect—especially in terms of the product, but also in terms of our partnership,” explains Lampel, adding: “Short lines of communication and a willingness to listen to new suggestions characterize our collaboration. baramundi gives us the feeling that, in addition to business benefits, customer satisfaction is also a top priority.”
