Powerful Client Management

Following WITTENSTEIN SE’s acquisition of baramundi software GmbH in 2017, the North American subsidiary WITTENSTEIN holding, Corp.,
did not hesitate to implement the Augsburg-based software manufacturer’s Unified Endpoint Management solution at its North American location—and the results are impressive.

Holger Beuschlein, Information Management Manager at WITTENSTEIN holding, Corp., and his team currently manage two locations from Bartlett: the U.S. and Brazil, with a workforce of approximately 125 employees, a total of 180 clients, and about 50 servers. The hardware landscape consists primarily of desktops, laptops, and physical servers from Dell, and the network is built with Cisco components.

In addition, Beuschlein and his team rely on Windows 10 for desktop and laptop clients, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 through 2016, plus approximately six Linux servers. Among the most frequently used software applications are MS Office 2016, MS CRM Dynamics 2016, Oracle, and Adobe.

"We've found that deploying updates with baramundi is significantly faster than with SCCM."

Significant time savings with baramundi

Based on their daily use of the baramundi Management Suite, Beuschlein and his team estimate that they actively save 200 work hours per year with the baramundi solution. “This is especially because we no longer have to create update packages for third-party applications such as Adobe and Java,” Beuschlein explains.

Thanks to the integrated third-party update functionality, the IM team at WITTENSTEIN holding, Corp. can provide updates to third-party applications more quickly and regularly, thereby effectively enhancing security.

“The baramundi Management Suite has won us over across the board. We’re a small team, but thanks to this solution, we’re just as well-equipped as a large team with many experts.
Small and medium-sized businesses in particular, with manageable IT teams, benefit greatly from the performance, the features offered, and the simple and intuitive operation of this solution,” Beuschlein concluded.
