baramundi Management Suite 2025 R2 expands control of mobile and Linux devices and accelerates vulnerability scanning

Augsburg, October 31, 2025  – baramundi software GmbH today introduced Version 2025 R2 of the baramundi Management Suite unified endpoint management (UEM) solution, adding Remote Desktop support for iOS and Android devices, expanded Linux management, faster vulnerability scans, and new centralized job management. The company also introduced the new baramundi Proactive Hub, an addition to its product portfolio focused on next-generation cloud-based IT management solutions.

Remote Desk for iOS and Android
The new baramundi Remote Desk feature for mobile devices enables IT teams to connect directly to iOS and Android mobile devices to provide fast and uncomplicated end user support. Based on proven AnyDesk technology, Remote Desk supports screen sharing with iPhones and iPads and direct control of Work Profiles on Android smartphones. The app is specially hardened and secured to limit access to authorized IT staff only. Each connection requires user confirmation and is clearly displayed on screen.
Linux compatibility: New distributions and package managers
The baramundi Management Suite now supports significantly more Linux distributions and package managers, including Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and OpenSUSE. The SSH enrollment process also has been simplified with sudo credentials that can be stored globally instead of requiring a configuration for each device. In addition to push communication via SSH from the baramundi Management Server to the Linux client, IT admins can now install a baramundi agent on the Linux client for pull communication. This makes it easier to manage Linux endpoints that are only accessible via the Internet or that work with roaming IP addresses. It also enables management of devices in a DMZ that only allow outgoing connections for security reasons.
Faster vulnerability scans
To address the dramatic five-fold increase in the size and scope of vulnerability catalogs in the last 10 years, the new Vulnerability Scanner uses a new algorithm that is approximately three times faster than previous versions. The increased performance improves the efficiency of regular vulnerability scanning on Windows endpoints as an essential part of comprehensive risk management. The Vulnerability Scanner now also supports the new 5.11.2 schema of the Open Vulnerability and Assessment Language (OVAL) to support new, more comprehensive scanning rules. The faster scanning process itself runs with a lower CPU priority to avoid disrupting user work.
Multiple tenants for Intune co-management
Especially for managed service providers (MSPs) or larger organizations, managing endpoints across multiple Microsoft tenants and Entra ID groups has long been a reality. With the new co-management feature of the baramundi Management Suite, administrators can configure and manage any number of tenants in the baramundi Management Center. In addition, synchronization jobs can be executed specifically for individual Entra ID groups and tenants – regardless of whether the devices are already managed via Intune.
Central job management
With this release, the baramundi Management Suite provides a reliable and user-friendly way to centrally set and manage maintenance periods for individual or multiple Windows endpoints. That makes it even easier to avoid disturbing end users during core working hours and ensures that server reboots only occur at non-critical times.
Further innovations in PowerShell, license management, and more
In addition to numerous security-related improvements, other new features in baramundi Management Suite 2025 R2 include:
- A new PowerShell module for the baramundi Connect V2 API for faster integration with other systems and flexible task automation using PowerShell function calls.
- Extensive updates to baramundi License Management, including the ability to track “user-based licenses” for apps licensed for use on multiple user devices.
- A convenient new Advanced Filter feature enabling administrators to apply complex filter criteria directly in regular endpoint grid views without using Universal Dynamic Groups.
- Faster, more flexible scans with the baramundi Network Discovery Scanner, including first and last contact views showing newly detected devices and endpoints out of contact for long time.
baramundi Proactive Hub
The new baramundi Proactive Hub is a standalone cloud-based platform with next-generation tools for proactive, intelligent, and automatic management of digital work environments. It includes baramundi perform2work, a continuously enhanced digital employee experience (DEX) solution based on the company’s original Argus Experience tool. baramundi perform2work provides early detection and notification of endpoint stability and performance issues so IT teams can resolve them proactively in a targeted manner. With new network performance functions, detailed analyses of device and connection quality, and a customizable dashboard, perform2work provides comprehensive transparency and recommended actions for resolution. It includes app-based boot time analysis and battery life overview functions and will soon add S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and outlier detection.
