More, Faster and Smarter Features: The new baramundi 2025 Release 2
The baramundi Management Suite 2025 R2 delivers multiple innovations including expanded remote support for mobile devices, enhanced Linux device compatibility and control, a 3x faster vulnerability scanner, and multi-tenant support for Intune co-management.
Short & Sweet:
- Remote Desk for iOS and Android adds remote support for mobile users.
- The baramundi Management Suite continues to expand support for more Linux distributions and package managers and provides a remote management agent
- The enhanced vulnerability scanner features a 3x faster scanning algorithm
- The Co-management feature can now configure and manage multiple Intune tenants — ideal for larger organizations and MSPs
Remote Desk for iOS and Android
What has long been a popular feature for supporting Windows clients is now available for mobile devices. The new Remote Desk function for iOS
and Android enables IT admins to connect directly to iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones from within the Management Suite.
Support personnel can use screen sharing to see the current state of a mobile device and provide the user step-by-step instructions to resolve problems. Android users can go one step
further and give IT support staff full control of the device when necessary.
Based on proven AnyDesk technology, the solution includes all security features of the desktop version including requiring explicit user consent to allow the remote
connection, and clear on-screen indications when a session is active. The app also is specially hardened and secured to restrict access to authorized IT staff only.

Linux – Expanded Linux device support and a new management agent
Linux is indispensable as a server operating system and is becoming increasingly important on industrial devices. There are many distributions
available, each with its own strengths and characteristics. That’s why we continue to add support for more distributions and package managers.
Starting with this release, baramundi supports popular versions such as Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and openSUSE. But that’s not all: the SSH enrollment process has been
simplified with the option to store sudo credentials globally instead of requiring a separate configuration for each device.
Management also is more flexible with the new Linux management agent. It gives IT teams reliable management access to Linux devices that are accessible only via the
internet or using roaming IP addresses. Devices in a DMZ can also be managed, even if they allow only outbound connections for security reasons.

Faster Vulnerability Scanner
Prevention is always better than a cure — especially in IT security. Known vulnerabilities remain among the most common attack vectors used by cybercriminals. Fortunately, most
vulnerabilities are only disclosed once a suitable patch is available. Unfortunately, that information must reach IT before hackers can act.
Given the large and ever-increasing number of vulnerabilities reported daily, manual management is practically impossible. Scanning devices regularly – an essential element of vulnerability
management -- has also become more time-consuming as vulnerability catalogs have dramatically increased in scope.
That’s why we created a new optimized scanning algorithm in our Vulnerability Scanner that’s about three times faster than
          the previous algorithm.

Co-management with Microsoft Intune
“Best of Breed” means using the best tool for each task. This principle also applies to co-management with baramundi and Microsoft Intune. Managed Service Providers and organizations with a very large number of endpoints require flexible solutions for different use cases. That’s why the baramundi Management Suite now includes the option to configure and manage any number of tenants simultaneously via the baramundi Management Center. Synchronization jobs can also be started specifically for individual Entra ID groups and tenants, regardless of whether the devices are already present in Intune.
Maintenance Windows
Simply put, users really don’t like it when updates and restarts interrupt their workflow. While the baramundi Management Suite already offered the “Do Not Disturb,” option, we have now
added the ability to define maintenance windows as another way to avoid user disruptions. IT admins can centrally specify when certain jobs should be executed, e.g., during
lunch breaks when devices are not in use.
Even more important are updates on servers, production systems, and some healthcare devices that must never restart while in use. With defined maintenance periods, it can be ensured that
system reboots only occur when no critical processes are running.

Numerous new features and enhancements
In addition to these major updates, 2025 R2 includes numerous other enhancements:
- Integrating the Management Suite with other systems is faster and easier with the new PowerShell module and baramundi Connect v2.
- The License Management function has been completely updated and adds a new feature for tracking user-based licensing for apps that can be installed on multiple devices.
- With the new Advanced Filters for Endpoint Grid Views, IT admins can apply complex filter criteria directly in the regular grid view without using universal dynamic groups. That makes many tasks more efficient and straightforward.
- We optimized performance and added new features to the baramundi Network Discovery Scanner, including displaying newly detected devices and existing endpoints that have not connected to the network for an extended time.
baramundi Proactive Hub
The release of 2025 R2 also coincides with an exciting first and a major milestone in our 25-year history: the premiere of a new standalone product called the baramundi Proactive Hub.
The Proactive Hub is an intelligent, cloud-native platform that allows IT administrators to automatically manage their entire digital work environment. Its first component
is baramundi perform2work, a Digital Employee Experience (DEX) solution based on our earlier Argus Experience product.
baramundi perform2work provides new and improved capabilities that enable IT teams to detect and resolve endpoint performance issues early on:

- Detailed analyses of device and connection quality
- Network performance monitoring
- A customizable dashboard
- App-based boot time analysis
- Battery life overview
- Outlier detection
- Coming soon: S.M.A.R.T. monitoring
