Third Party Software

Third Party Software

Third-party software refers to software that is developed by a vendor other than the operating system or hardware manufacturer. Third-party vendors are independent publishers or developers that offer software solutions for different platforms. Common examples of third-party software include customer relationship management and accounting systems, and graphic design solutionssuch as Photoshop.

Compatibility and integration of third-party software

Third-party software may be compatible with existing systems and platforms or may require additional customization, integration or interface development.

Risk management and maintenance

Like all other software used in an organization, third-party solutions must not add security risks or system vulnerabilities. It is important to check the security practices and records of third-party providers and to close potential security gaps with regular updates and patches.
